Kate Mathis lives in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter. Born in Arkansas and raised in Bucks County, PA, Kate shared her early years with African Grey Parrots, Angora rabbits, Golden Retrievers, Polish Chickens and her brother Mike. Kate’s love affair with image making began as a young girl, experimenting with her father’s 35mm camera and her mother’s sewing machine. After graduating from FIT, Kate worked for a short time as a Photo Editor in the magazine industry, where she worked closely with many of New York’s top photographers. Realizing that her true calling was to be behind the camera, she soon began assisting them, and before long moved on to begin her own career.
Kate’s clients include Brooks Brothers, Food & Wine, Martha Stewart Living, and Garnet Hill.
