An Australian childhood, with its beaches and wide open spaces, endowed Petrina with a love of the turquoise sea and sky. She was intrigued by old movies like Breakfast at Tiffany's, with its excellent art direction and sense of style and glamour. Attracted to cameras from an early age, Petrina studied photography while earning her Visual Arts degree at Sydney College of the Arts, where she clarified her style: simple and clean, with primarily natural light. Petrina has traveled the world covering food, travel, interiors, and lifestyle assignments for clients such as Vogue Living, Food & Wine, and Campbell's. Her renowned cookbook photography for such stars as Domestic Goddess Nigella Lawson, Food Network's Tyler Florence, England's top cookbook author Delia Smith, and Australia's favorite Donna Hay has earned her both the James Beard Award and the Julia Child Award for food photography.
